While I happen to believe I am physically connected to two of the most caring, loving, best families ever—the Schmidts and the Eaglemans—I’ve also been incredibly blessed in life with wonderful families of choice. I...

Robyn - Is this family beautiful, or what? Both outside and inside, for sure! All of the photos are simply lovely, but I have to single out the one of everyone in the tree as my favorite. It's a fun a moment (they're in a tree!) that offers a glimpse into their characters and relationships. I loved reading (and seeing) this post! ;)

kay - Wonderful pictures of a very special family! I am so happy that you found each other. It can be so hard living away from family and when you can find "chosen family" to "bond" with it is beyond special. So important!
My favorite pictures are the set of four with each family member looking over their shoulder.

Gail - Ahhh..you did a GREAT job with these Erin!! It's so rewarding to give friends the gift of memories. You tackled it with aplomb!

The perfect job

Many people search their entire lives and never quite put a finger on it. Some know exactly what it is they’d love to do, but the opportunities are obscure. A slower pace

My beautiful, Italian, I’d-searched-forever-and-finally-found-the-ones boots were in need of repair. In eight months I’d worn down the sole in a major way—like, to the leather worn—and had been nervous about parting with them for the assumed week+ they’d be in the shop. I pushed repair off for weeks…and may even have been known to place...

Globetrotting: Puerto Maldonado, The Amazon Rainforest

Beautiful sunset over the Madre de Dios River in Puerto Maldonado, PeruSix months later, countless passes through the photo albums and I still can not believe I stepped foot in the Amazon. The Amazon! Thick, lush flora as far as the eye can see. Wide, brown rivers snaking northbound. Monkeys, caimans and tarantulas, oh my!...
